The New World Symphony celebrates the season with a WALLCAST performance of holiday tunes this weekend on Saturday, Decemeber 17th. Free to audiences on the lawn, conductor Dean Whiteside will lead the symphony through a program that includes works from Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, and Jose Feliciano. Whiteside joins The New World Symphony as the Conducting Fellow, leading a variety of performances and serving as artistic director to Michael Tilson Thomas.

Moon Garden Meditation

Join in a gathering for a night of meditation in the light of the full moon at The Standard Spa. Sharon Aluma will lead an enlightened evening as she guides a group through a Moon Garden Meditation that will open eyes and soothe the soul. The program includes reference to crystal alchemy bowls. It takes place from 6:30 to 8:00 pm | $45 includes indoor baths, which is really all you need to complete the experience.

South Beach Jazz Festival

This week marks the launch of the South Beach Jazz Festival, the first of its kind, from a stage on Euclid Circle. The festival will bring together a medley of  classic, Latin, and New Orleans-style acts at stages all over South Beach. From December 7 - 11 various acts will play at South Beach hotels, theaters, and restaurants, including Paul Midon and Diane Schuur.

The festival is also working to raise public awareness of persons who have disabilities. Each act performing at the festival will showcase the artistry of at least one person with a disability. American Sign Language Interpreters will be provided at all of the Colony Theater events throughout the South Beach Jazz Festival as well as at the stage on Lincoln Road and Euclid Ave. on Saturday, Dec 10 from 1:00pm to 11:00pm.
