The PAMM Project Gallery features a series of works by American artist, Robert Rauschenberg. Drawing entirely from PAMM’s collection, Project Gallery: Robert Rauschenberg illustrates the artist’s innovative approach to art-making while showcasing his artistic range.

In the 1950s, the artist developed new techniques that used found objects to create unique works that blended elements of drawing painting and sculpture. By using images taken from newspapers, magazines, and postcards alongside clothes or cardboard boxes he was able to  blend mass media and Western culture of the mid-20th century, in a way that was not seen before.

Rauschenberg lived in Captiva Island, Florida, for over 35 years and his legacy has undoubtedly influenced the artistic development of South Florida.
