On February 5th, Juan Felipe Herrera, the first Hispanic Poet Laureate of the United States comes to Miami for a "live-taping" of a Poetry Film. During his Laureateship, Herrera has set out on a project to create a crowd-sourced poem involving as many Americans as possible. Footage from the evening, made possible by O, Miami will later be Wallcasted during the 2016 O, Miami Poetry Festival.

Visiting artist Ananke Asseff speaks at the ArtCenter/South Florida with curator Susan Caraballo on Wednesday, February 3rd to discuss her work in the upcoming exhibitionThe Future Isn’t What It Used to Be curated by Caraballo. Asseff is part of the ArtCenter's International Artist Exchange program that was established in 2013 with Panal 361 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The New World Symphony presents Zarathustra on Saturday, Jan 30th a program which features the works of Mozart, Richard Strauss' famed Sunrise – made famous by 2001: A Space Odyssey – and Cesar Franck. James Gaffigan conducts alongside award-winning pianist Jeffrey Kahane.
